How to Sign out or Log off from Windows 10

Microsoft’s all Windows versions let you create multiple users accounts on your PC and laptops, so your family, guest or friends can all share the same device.

If you’re by mistake signed in into guest user (or another user account) instead of your account, and you want to switch the user account, you can do all this without powering off your computer.  Just simply sign out to go to user switch user menu.

Here is some method to sign out from the user in Windows 10. Before you start, save your work and close all running programs.

Method 1: Log out by using shortcut keys

This is one of the simplest methods to log out from Windows 10.

1.    Use the keys ‘Ctrl + Alt + Del’ together.

2.    Click on ‘Sign Out’ from the options.

You’ve successfully logged out.

Method 2: How to log off by using Start Menu

1.    Press ‘Windows key’ or click on ‘Start’ button to launch the start menu.

2.    Now, click on the ‘User profile’ icon. It may be on the bottom left or top left corner of the start menu.

Wait for a while to complete logging off, and when logged off successfully you’ll see user’s option on your desktop.

Method 3: How to sign out by using Power User Menu

Now your PC will log off and shut down, when it will again starting, it asks you to choose the User for Sign In.

Method 4: Log off from ‘Shut down Windows’ dialog box.

1.    Press ‘Windows key + D’ together or click on the very bottom-right on the taskbar to navigate to the desktop. You can also close all the windows to go to the desktop.

2.    Press ‘Alt + F4’ together to launch the ‘Shut down Windows’ dialog box.

3.    Click the drop-down menu of the dialog box. It is just below the ‘What do you want the computer to do?’

4.    Select ‘Sign out’ from the options to sign out; here you can also choose other options (Switch user, Sleep, Shut down, Restart).

5.    Press ‘Enter’ or click on ‘OK’ button.

Your selected action will be performed.
