How to find and Unarchive Messages on Facebook Messenger


Archiving a conversation is a good option when your Facebook inbox is full with so many random chats. Full inbox will also create difficulties to find the desired conversation. Archiving chat is a better option than deleting the messages. You can recover it anytime in future when you require.
Here is how to find your Archived Facebook messages (if you’ve accidentally archived a conversation) and recover them.
How to find your Archived Facebook messages on mobile
You can view an archived chat easily by just searching for it. In Facebook messenger app you can only search and view a specific archived chat not the entire list of your archived conversations.
  1. Open ‘Facebook Messenger’ app on your device.
  2. Log in with your ‘Username or number and password.’ If already logged in then ignore.
  3. Now, tap ‘Home’ icon at the left-bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap on the ‘Search’ bar at the top of your screen.
  5. Type the name of archived conversation’s recipient. You can also write the name of a group chat.
  6. Now, tap on the conversation’s name from the result.
This will open the archived conversation.

  1. Open any preferred browser and go to ‘Facebook.’
  2. Log in with your ‘Username or number and password.’ If already logged in then ignore.
  3. Click on ‘Settings’ icon to open settings.
  4. Click on ‘Archived Threads’ in the drop-down settings menu. This will open a list of your archived conversations at the left side of the page.
  5. Click on an ‘Archived conversation’ to view it.
How to Unarchive Messages of Facebook messenger on Mobile
  1. Open ‘Facebook Messenger’ app on your device.
  2. Log in with your ‘Username or number and password.’ If already logged in then ignore.
  3. Now, tap ‘Home’ icon at the left-bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap on the ‘Search’ bar at the top of your screen.
  5. Type the name of archived conversation’s recipient. You can also write the name of a group chat.
  6. Now, tap on the conversation’s name from the result to open that archived chat.
  7. Type a new message in chat.
  8. And tap the ‘Send’ button to send messages.
Doing this will send a message to that person and also unarchive the conversation by removing the conversation from the archived folder to your inbox.

  1. Open any preferred browser and go to ‘Facebook.’
  2. Log in with your ‘Username or number and password.’ If already logged in then ignore.
  3. Now, go to ‘Messages.’
  4. Click ‘More.’
  5. And select ‘Archived.’
  6. Search or select the ‘Archived conversation’ from the list that you want to recover.
  7. Click ‘Unarchive’ which is a small arrow button. Or select the conversation and click on ‘Action’ button>click ‘Unarchive’ from the drop-down options.
The selected conversation will be restored or Unarchive, and now you can find the conversation in your inbox.
