How to Adjust Brightness on Windows 10 PC?
Windows 10 is a line of PC operating systems devised by
Microsoft as a part of its Windows NT. It was a successor to Windows 8.1 and
was released for manufacturing on 15 July 2015. Windows 10 keeps on receiving
new builds on an ongoing basis. They are available at no additional cost for
the users. One of the most amazing features of Windows 10 is support for
universal apps. It has mostly received positive reviews on its original release
in July 2015. Critics have also praised Microsoft’s decision to provide a
desktop-oriented interface with the previous versions. Windows 10 has provided
the user's variety of different options to adjust the screen brightness levels
on their tablet, laptop or the desktop computer. In this blog, you can find a
way to quickly decrease and increase the screen brightness on Windows 10
device.
How to Change the Brightness in
Windows 10
Adjusting brightness on Windows 10 is relatively easy and
can be done quickly by below given easy
steps:
·
Choose Notifications icon in the below right
corner of the screen on your windows10 computer or the tablet for opening the
Action Center. If you own Windows 10 device with touchscreen such as Surface
tab, you also can open Action Center by swiping from the right-hand side with
your finger.
·
You will see a 'square box' with a sun icon in
the Action center. This is the main button for increasing and decreasing
brightness in Windows 10. Select icon to the cycle through 5 pre-set screen
brightness levels. Showing 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Lowest possible
brightness setting is 0%, 100% being the highest one. You are good to go if you
are happy with any of these preset brightness selections. Read down if you want
to make finer adjustments to screen brightness.
·
Click right on the brightness button in Action
Center with the mouse. A link named Go to Settings option will appear when you
release finger. When you select Go to Settings, you will be directly taken to
advanced Windows 10 brightness settings within the Settings App. You will here
see a horizontal bar with line son it indicating the current level of
brightness. Pull the line to the right or left on the bar with your mouse or
the finger for choosing a particular brightness level outside of 5 presets. The
brightness of the screen will turn up or down in the real time when you move
the line on the bar.
What is Windows 10’s Dynamic
Brightness Setting?
Under the bar in brightness settings, there will be a box
with “Change brightness Automatically when the lightning changes.” Select the
box to enable Windows 10 lighting feature. This feature will use a webcam for
detecting the light levels where you are. It will also adjust screen brightness
for matching it. Your device’s screen will dim if you are in a dark room with
this option enabled. Same way, if you take Windows 10 device outside on a sunny
day, the setting would itself brighten the screen so that whatever is going on
is visible.
How to use Night Light settings of
Windows10?
Below the dynamic brightness setting within Settings app
will be a switch for Windows 10 night light feature. This feature will reduce
the amount of blue light emitted from the screen of your device. It will make
everything appear more orange. It is a general belief that blue light can keep
you awake at night. It’s better to reduce your exposure to it in night hours.
