How to Transfer PDF Files to a Kindle
Amazon’s Kindle is
an incredibly handy device for reading books. If you use Kindle or its app,
then you might be aware that it supports PDF format. You do not have to convert
the file into a more suited format as Kindle supports PDF. You can get PDF on your
Kindle device or app very easily. The process to transfer a PDF file to a
Kindle is given below:
Transfer
PDF to Kindle via Email
- Firstly,
you will have to get your sent to Kindle email address. You can move PDF
files to your Kindle device through this email address.
- Go to
the Amazon website.
- Click
on My Devices and sign into the account.
- Navigate
the page and click on Personal Document Settings.
- Now,
just note down the email address mentioned there.
- You
may also add another email address.
- Now,
simply sign in to your email account. You may use any email service.
- Depending
on the email service you are using, click on the write email/compose
button. If you are using Gmail, then click on the Compose button located
at the upper left corner of the inbox.
- If
you are using Outlook, then click on the + New message button located at
the top left-hand side of the inbox.
- If
you are using Yahoo, then click on the Compose button located at the top
left-hand corner of the screen.
- iCloud
Mail users will find the Compose icon on the upper side of the screen.
- Type
in the Send to Kindle email in the recipient box.
- Now,
click on the Attach item link. Its icon is denoted by a paperclip.
- Go to
the folder where the PDF file is, and click on it.
- Click
on the Open button in the File Explorer.
- Allow
the PDF file to upload completely.
- Click
on the Send button.
- Now,
the PDF will get sent to your Kindle device along with the app/apps.
- Open
your Kindle and let the file upload. Make sure that the Kindle is
connected to the internet.
- You
can access the PDF by going to the Library.
Transfer
PDF to Kindle via USB
You can send PDF
files to your Kindle device via a USB cable. However, it will not work for the
Kindle app. Windows users can easily transfer files via USB, but Mac users have
to get Android File Transfer tool.
- If
you have a Mac then you must do the following:
- Lookup
Android File Transfer on the web.
- Go to
the link and download it.
- Launch
the installer file.
- After
that, move it to the Applications.
- Open
the folder where the PDF file is. Copy the PDF.
- Using
a USB cable, connect the Kindle to the system.
- When
prompted, open the folder. You may have to go to Computer and then click
on Kindle. Mac users can access it by going to Spotlight.
- Click
on Docs and move the PDF file to it. Simply paste the previously copied
file.
- Now,
just disconnect the Kindle from the system.
- Open
the Kindle and go to Library. You will find the PDF file there.
